The outgoing mail server, smtp.tstar.net, began
sporadically failing to accept new connections
on Saturday evening/night. The problem was cleared
on Sunday about 1230 and the server operations returned
to normal. The problem was caused by anti-spam measures
adopted by other sites which caused a buildup of idle
tasks waiting to send email to other mail servers.
A timeout parameter was set in smtp.tstar.net which
limits the time an idle task will wait before
terminating.
